This past September, two of our dedicated delegates, Bénédict Tanner and Quentin Carnuau-Plessin proudly represented SGMUN at the Karlsruhe Model United Nations (KAMUN) conference. Held over four engaging days, KAMUN brought together participants from across the globe to tackle some of today’s most pressing issues.

Our delegates joined the ECOSOC committee, where they debated the critical topic of Dedollarization. Representing two of the most influential players in the discussion—The United States of America and The People's Republic of China—our delegates explored the complexities of global economic shifts and the role of the US dollar in international markets.

Celebrating SuccessWe are thrilled to share that our delegates’ hard work and commitment were recognised with two prestigious awards: Best Delegate and Best Position Paper. These honours reflect not only their preparation and expertise but also their ability to engage diplomatically and think critically in a high-pressure environment.

Beyond the Committee RoomKAMUN wasn’t just about the debates—it was also about forging connections and building a sense of community. Our delegates engaged with peers from diverse backgrounds, exchanging ideas and forming friendships that crossed borders and perspectives. This spirit of collaboration is at the heart of what SGMUN stands for.

The TakeawayKAMUN 2024 highlighted the immense value of platforms like Model United Nations in developing critical skills and fostering global awareness. Our delegates’ performance is a testament to the dedication and excellence that SGMUN strives to cultivate.

As we look ahead to future conferences, we remain committed to providing our members with opportunities to grow, learn, and excel on the global stage. Congratulations once again to our delegates for their outstanding achievements—we couldn’t be prouder!
