As the year draws to a close, what better way to celebrate than by coming together for a night filled with joy, laughter, and festive cheer? This year's SGMUN Christmas Social was nothing short of magical—a heartwarming evening that truly encapsulated the spirit of the season.
A Festive Start
The night began with the perfect blend of tradition and cosiness. Guests were greeted with steaming cups of homemade Apfelwein and Glühwein, lovingly prepared to kick off the evening on a festive note. The warm drinks were a hit, sparking conversations and setting the tone for a relaxed yet lively gathering.
Fun and Creativity
The event quickly transitioned into a hub of activity as attendees dove into engaging games and competitions. A spirited round of Kahoot brought out everyone’s competitive side, while the gingerbread house decoration competition showcased the creativity of our community. From traditional cottages to imaginative holiday-themed constructions, the results were as delightful as the process.
Reflecting on an Incredible Semester
As we celebrated the festive season, it was also the perfect opportunity to look back on an amazing semester filled with achievements and memorable events:
Starters Event: Our semester began with the Starters Event at Oya Bar, where new and old members connected over lively conversations and a fun raffle.
Starters Debate: We dived into the world of diplomacy with a beginner-friendly debate on the human rights situation at the UN/Mexican border, complete with cheat sheets to ease participants in.
Workshop: Our workshop offered hands-on learning through three engaging stations, focusing on resolution writing, MUN fundamentals, and conference preparation.
Barcelona Conference: One of the semester’s highlights, our delegation proudly represented SGMUN at an international conference, bringing back new experiences and connections.
SGMUN Conference: We hosted our very own edition of the SGMUN conference, showcasing the dedication and organisational skills of our team while providing participants with an immersive and rewarding experience.
KAMUN Conference: Expanding our horizons, we also participated in the KAMUN conference, further strengthening our network and gaining valuable insights.
Debate Block: Throughout the semester, we tackled diverse topics in our debate sessions, building confidence, sharpening skills, and fostering a deeper understanding of global issues.
Laughter and Connection
While the activities during the Christmas Social were a definite highlight, the true magic of the evening lay in the connections made and the shared laughter. The Christmas Social wasn’t just about games or drinks; it was about creating memories, fostering friendships, and celebrating the vibrant community that SGMUN has built over the years.
