At SGMUN, we pride ourselves on fostering a community of passionate individuals who are dedicated to promoting diplomacy, leadership, and collaboration. This year, we’re thrilled to introduce the talented and enthusiastic team that is working tirelessly to support our initiatives and bring our events to life.

Our teammates work closely with the respective heads of departments, assisting with tasks ranging from creating Instagram posts to coordinating event logistics, and facilitating collaborations with other clubs. While their responsibilities are largely supportive, they contribute immensely to the smooth functioning of the club by taking on these essential duties. Each of them plays a key role in helping SGMUN achieve its goals.

Below, you’ll find a brief introduction from each team member. Get to know the people who are working behind the scenes to make everything happen:

Marketing Team-mates

Ella Ottenritter

Hi! I’m Ella Ottenritter, an Assessment Year student and a proud member of the Marketing Team. As a Marketing Teamie, I have been actively involved in the club’s digital and social media marketing. I have been helping brainstorm, plan and implement various projects, including the new LinkedIn posting strategy.

I joined SGMUN earlier this year at the recommendation of a friend and have absolutely loved it. The Starter Debate truly sparked a passion for MUN that I’ve been cultivating through the various debate blocks and conferences.

Outside of MUN, I enjoy curling up with a book and hot cocoa, spending time with friends, and the outdoors. A fun fact about me, is that I was a scout for over six years and was a Patrol Leader during the 2023 World Scout Jamboree in South Korea, though its been hard to keep up with scouting while at HSG. I am incredibly grateful to have found MUN – it’s been an amazing journey so far, filled with incredible people and experiences. I’m looking forward to continuing to debate, meeting more phenomenal people, and contributing more to the club’s growth. See you soon!

Joshua Lane

Hi, my name is Joshua Lane and I am a student at HSG doing my bachelor in International Affairs. It is with great pleasure that I am also part of the SGMUN Marketing Team, in which I am involved in the brainstorming, planning and creation of various projects showcasing the unique experience SGMUN brings to all that participate in our events.

Whilst I only joined SGMUN on the advice of a friend at a bar, it immediately captivated me, both due to the complex topics that were discussed during our debates and due to the interesting and fun people I have met and bonded with during my time here. As such I have fully committed to the club and look forward in the future to expanding my role within it and to meeting more brilliant people.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking and skiing, but I also love reading, especially if it’s in a cosy café.

Events & Marketing Team-mate

Thomas Pfister

Hi, I’m Thomas Pfister, an International Affairs student and a member of the Event and Marketing Team at SGMUN. My role involves brainstorming creative ideas, planning engaging events, and helping to showcase what makes SGMUN such a unique and inspiring experience for all of us.

A fun fact about me? I once accidentally ended up stranded in Athens alone. What started as a mishap turned into an unexpected adventure, where I met amazing people from all over Europe.

What I love most about SGMUN is the chance to meet fascinating new people who share a passion for politics, international relations, and thought-provoking debates. It’s incredible how quickly you can bond over discussing complex topics and finding innovative solutions to global challenges.

Finance Team-mate

Beryl Hours

Hello everyone, my name is Beryl Hours and I am currently studying in the Assessment year. Although not having been at HSG for a long time, I have decided to commit to the SGMUN club. Back in Geneva, I took part in the Students United Nations between Gymnasium students from Geneva and I enjoyed taking part in the debates and was wishing to prolong my MUN experience in university. Moreover, the club is full of fun and lively people who enjoy debating and discussing current events.

On a more personal note some of my hobbies include dancing and listening to music.

My position is to assist the head of finance in both keeping track of finances and overseeing sponsoring. I am truly looking forward to being able to help the board and the club as a whole.

We hope these introductions give you a glimpse into the incredible group of individuals who make up our teams. Their dedication and hard work are the backbone of SGMUN’s success, and we’re grateful for everything they do to keep our club running smoothly.

Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming events, debates, and workshops. We can’t wait to see you at one of our events and to share in the joy of learning and growing together. Here’s to another amazing year at SGMUN!
